Two Kochi Kimonos

July 25, 2018 by Aimee Sher

One of the very first thing I have ever sewn in my life was a little kimono cardigan to wear as a costume with friends at school. Let’s never speak of that period of my life again. 15 years later I’m at it again, this time the goal being a nice, slinky silk kimono. I’ve …

Received the most delightful little pile of @ateli Received the most delightful little pile of @atelier_to_naniiro_textile fabric in the mail this week. Some of the second slide was for someone else but the rest are for me and my little ones. I’m trying to curate a lovely little spring/summer capsule wardrobe for K, who turns 5 this summer. Generally she subsists on adorable hand me downs from some of my piano students but because I lost like 80-90% of my clientele due to the pandemic there are no hand me downs this year. I shall have to chug away at the sewing and purchase when necessary but hopefully her dresser will be full of lovely things that spark joy. That brown silk blend on the top there is my favorite and will be a Gemma tank by @madebyrae but for now, staring at it gives me endless joy.

Thank you as always @missmatatabifabric for the most delightful fabrics.
